Today, September 13, 2021, journalists have the opportunity to have a casual chat with the CBNP band at their headquarters on Jalan Sesetan Denpasar. The meeting was very relaxed because almost all CBNP personnel, including the manager, Dika, were people who liked to joke.


The reporters tried to pry CBNP's journey until they had created their own 12 songs.

CBNP (CO BAND NINETEEN PROJECT) is relatively young, more than 2.5 years old.

Previously, each personnel traveled the world with their respective bands from one cafe to another and from one hotel to another. Moreover, one of the personnel, Mr. Willy (guitarist) has traveled the world to Asia, America and Europe to join a band whose personnel are from various countries. So all CBNP personnel have enjoyed the ups and downs of being a musician.

And this is the journey of CBNP

1. Initially formed 1 week after Nyepi in the first pandemic. That is on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

2. First formed under the name Co Band Nineteen Project (a play on the Covid-19 Project) until it became CoBand (like Cobain).

The name Co Band Nineteen Project is the creation of Andre (drums)

2. Initially, the band was formed to help musicians friends who were affected, for livestreaming.

Initial format:

Andre(drums)

Elang(bass)

Bora (guitar vocals)

Which then entered Momo (Mojorido Band).

3. Thinking of adding a female guitarist and vocalist.

Finally, the band invited Mary (vocal) who at that time had also started livestreaming activities with other bands. and Laris (guitar) to join in this project.

4. The first live streaming was on Wednesday, a week after the band was formed. That is at ABCD Studio.

5. On the first day of livestreaming at ABCD Studio,

Momo(guitar) had a problem and canceled to join the livestream.

6. Walk with the formation of Mary, Andre, Eagle, Bora, Laris for about 7 meetings.

7. Bora (guitar) resigned from the band. 4 days before the first gigs at Garasi (Logic Music)

8. Andre replaces bora for male vocals.

9. According to Andre, there must be a common thread in this project that is not only based on audience requests.

Finally it was decided to apply a punk feel. Like blink182, greenday, rancid, the clash, interrupter, no doubt. And there are elements that Mary puts in like the songs of alanis morisette.


10. An idea arises to create an original work. Where the song material is owned by Mary.

Finally created the song Sometimes.


11. After 2 x meetings with the formation of Andre, Elang, Laris, Mary on Wednesday,

They get a job at Twice Bar every Monday. And since then, Twice Bar and Rumble have always supported the band to this day.

13. Cooperating with Garasi music studio and logic music, finally creating gigs at garage music studio.

14. After that, the Co Band Nineteen Project started performing at several events, including the Republic of Indonesia Anniversary at Empire (Legian).

15. The recording process begins, with a sponsor from a relative..... For 1 album.

16. The first video clip "Sometimes" is supported by Panda Rel who is an old friend of Andre (drums), and is located at Logic Music (Garasi Studio).



17. The mixing mastering process is carried out at Voice Records, with the maximum support obtained by Gung Gus (Operator/Engineer).

* Gung Gus is a longtime friend with Andre from school days until now. They had run the band together.

18. Appear at Baroc events (Santa Fe) and events at Bario & Co

19. Get a Sunday schedule at Max Warung, which is then changed to Tuesday.

20. Launching the first video clip on Twice Bar.

21. As time went on, Laris resigned from the band.

22. Band assisted by Yogi Porte, Putu Rhytm Voice, and Robert (espresso)

23. Robert (guitar) was finally offered to join the band, and was approved.

24. After several meetings, Robert resigned due to personal problems.

25. The band met with Willy, and offered Willy a second time to join the band.

* Previously, Willy had been offered to join the Co Band Nineteen Project but was constrained by a busy schedule.

26. In this formation (CBNP) Andre, Mary, Eagle, Willy, it was finally decided to recycle the songs that had been created, namely Sometimes and You.

27. Songs are sometimes remade by adding nuances of Willy's character.

28. Then the video Sometimes and You were made, and used the shooting location at Twice Bar.

29. The song sometimes and you can already be listened to on various music platforms such as spotify, apple music, youtube music, etc.

30. Video clips can sometimes be watched live on the CBNP Official YouTube channel.
