In mid-December 2021, Summer Fights, a Muay Thai competition event, will be held in Kerobokan, Badung Bali. A number of fighters, flocked to register and want to take part in this match. Taking the concept of “Weekend Sparing” this event managed to bring 26 fighters who would test their guts and courage in the ring. These fighters consist of four female fighters and 22 male fighters from various countries in the world.

Marcos Manurung, the promoter of Summer Fights explained that this event is not the first time, but the ninth time. “This Summer Fights Spring Weekend is the ninth event. Seeing the enthusiasm of the fighters who signed up, and the audience in attendance, we agreed to make a bigger scheme in February 2022. So it can be said that this Summer Fights sparring weekend is a pre-event in a big event that will be initiated and carried out in February." He exclaimed.

It is undeniable that the match, which started at 13.00 WITA noon on Saturday, December 18, was attended quite seriously as well as sportingly by each of the supporters from each gym. A number of gyms or camps that registered their fighters were also present to encourage this match, namely Dee Muay Thai, Zando, Kebo Iwa, Dewata, Kupang, Street, Mangapura, and Pakuan. Around 300 visitors attended the Dee Muay Thai page which is located at Jalan Pengubengan Kauh no. 1 D, Kerobokan Kuta Utara for the sake of witnessing this fair fight, where the day before, the fighters had weighed themselves openly in front of their respective camps and their opponents to produce a draw opponent.

Not only that, even foreign supporters who are expatriates in Bali came to enliven this event, which in the future is also expected to have a positive impact in the midst of Bali which is surviving and rising during this pandemic.

“Summer Fights wants to present a match that is not just a match, but by providing the quality of each relevant fighter according to its class, which undoubtedly will produce and grow as well as present true fighters in the Muay Thai field. Summer Fights hopefully can give at least a contribution to Bali and Indonesia to show their fangs in the future.” Close Marcos Manurung, Summer Fights Promoter.*
